  • Board of Trustees Unanimously Approves Additional Three-Month Extension through June 2024 to the Free Major Medical Plus Plan Coverage Under Health Plan for Eligible Participants, Beginning April 1, 2024. To lessen the impact on participants who lost Health Plan coverage as of March 31, 2024 due to the work stoppage resulting from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the Board of Trustees of the Directors Guild of America-Producer Pension and Health Plans approved an additional three-month extension to the free medical plan coverage for eligible participants. The Major Medical Plus Plan offers medical coverage within the Anthem Blue Cross network, including mental health and substance abuse benefits, and prescription drug coverage.   • New Health Plan Amendment Allows Surviving Dependent Children to Inherit Accrued Earned and Carry-Over Coverage. The Board of Trustees approved allowing a deceased participant’s surviving dependent child(ren) to inherit any of the participant’s accrued Earned or Carry-Over Coverage, even when there is not a surviving spouse, effective April 19, 2024.
  • Have You Received Your Pension Plans Annual Statement? The Pension Plans Annual Statements were sent in March by mail or online via the myPHP benefits portal. These statements detail your vested status, estimated monthly benefit amounts and more. Please review the annual statement carefully for any discrepancies.   • My Child is Behaving Differently. The School Recommends We See Somone. What Should I Do Next? And Will It Be Covered? Parents who notice a change in their child are instinctually eager to get answers. This can lead them to a doctor for assessments to determine the cause of behavioral or cognitive concerns. Not all diagnostic assessments for children are considered medically necessary or covered by the Health Plan, so how can you know whether the test your doctor recommends is? This article discusses the types of related assessments doctors most recommend, the likelihood of the Health Plan covering them, and how you can estimate your potential costs for the assessments through the Health Plan’s predetermination process. Whether shopping, watching the latest viral video or meeting someone new on an app, many of us use social media to connect. We’ve grown comfortable giving the person on the other side of the screen personal information, which unfortunately can also be used by cybercriminals on social media and dating apps to threaten victims’ identities, safety and finances. This installment of the Cybersmart(er) series will explore cybercrimes like romance scams, social media account hijacking and sextortion along with ways to protect yourself while online.
