100% COBRA Premium Subsidy to Eligible Individuals, Beginning April 1, 2021
- Important Notice Regarding the American Rescue Plan Act — 100% COBRA Subsidy. The latest COVID-19 relief bill, the American Rescue Plan Act, includes provision of a COBRA premium subsidy that will pay 100% of the COBRA premium from April 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, for eligible participants and dependents.
- New Federal Law Provides 100% COBRA Subsidy to Eligible Individuals, Beginning April 1, 2021. The latest COVID-19 relief bill, the American Rescue Plan Act, includes provision of a COBRA premium subsidy that will pay 100% of the COBRA premium from April 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, for eligible participants and dependents.

Premium-Free Bronze Plus Coverage as an Alternative to COBRA Coverage
- New Premium-Free Benefit Created for Eligible Participants. For those who Lost Earned Active Coverage on June 30th, September 30th or December 31st, 2020, the Board of Trustees has created the Bronze Plus Plan as an Alternative to COBRA Continuation Coverage.
Temporary Loans from the Supplemental Plan
- Board of Trustees Increases Loan Limits from Your Supplemental Plan Account through December 31, 2020.
- Board of Trustees extends availability of temporary loans from your Supplemental Benefit Plan Account from May 1 to December 31, 2020. Loan application now available.
Three Months of Premium-Free COBRA Coverage
- Board of Trustees Approves Additional Three Months of Premium-Free COBRA for Health Plan Participants with Earned Active Coverage That Terminated June 30, 2020, Extending Premium-Free Period Through December 31, 2020. Participants who lost earned active coverage on June 30th and elected COBRA coverage thereafter are eligible for the extended period of premium-free COBRA coverage, provided the Health Plan is their primary plan.
- Board of Trustees approves three months of premium-free COBRA Coverage for Health Plan participants with Earned Active Coverage terminating September 30, 2020. Participants losing earned active coverage on September 30th are eligible, provided the Health Plan is their primary plan.
- Board of Trustees approves three months of premium-free COBRA Coverage for Health Plan participants with Earned Active Coverage terminating June 30, 2020. Participants losing earned active coverage on June 30th are eligible, provided the Health Plan is their primary plan.
Required Minimum Distributions Waived for 2020
- Required Minimum Distributions from the Supplemental Pension Plan have been waived for the remainder of 2020. Federal government has granted relief from the requirement of taking a taxable distribution with payments beginning April 2020 or later.
Deferral Option for Dependent Premiums due April 1
- Effective April 1, 2020: Dependent Premiums due April 1, 2020 may be deferred until July 1, 2020
